John W. Copeland
Mr. Copeland joined AMG WP in 2011 from Morgan Stanley, where he was a senior partner on one of the firm’s largest private wealth management teams. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, he was a Managing Director at Lehman Brothers in the firm’s Private Investment Management division. Mr. Copeland also served as Managing Director for E-Commerce and Wealth Management at Credit Suisse First Boston, where he oversaw the development of a state-of-the-art platform for the wealth advisory business. He began his career in 1988 in the Private Client Services Group of Goldman, Sachs & Co., where he held successive positions over a 12-year career. In his final role as Managing Director, he was a senior member of the management team for the overall private client business, a division of 450 advisors with $230 billion in assets under management.
Mr. Copeland holds a B.A. Magna Cum Laude from Georgetown University; an M.S. from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; a J.D. Magna Cum Laude from Harvard Law School, and serves on the boards of environmental and charitable non-profit organizations.
Benjamin M. Scott
Mr. Scott joined AMG WP in 2011 after 7 years as a senior manager in AMG’s Affiliate Development group where he supported Affiliates on a variety of strategic and operating matters. Mr. Scott joined AMG in 2004 and became Vice President in 2006. Prior to joining AMG, Mr. Scott was an Associate with UBS Investment Bank, where he worked in the Financial Institutions Group focusing on financial advisory and financing transactions for asset managers, broker-dealers and specialty finance companies.
Mr. Scott holds a B.S. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
